Day 3 and 4

Did some running on Day 3, 12 minutes and 30 seconds worth, albeit very slowly but was enough to make me pant like a dog.

Day 4 was spent resting my legs and shoulders which were still pretty sore. Wanted my body to recover before fully hitting deadlifts tomorrow!

Day 2

I've been feeling super sore from yesterday's squat session but decided to still hit a moderately light session twice, at 8am and 9pm. And since there wasn't much I could do with my legs, back, shoulders feeling super sore, decided to hit some isolations.

8am session
Bicep Curls 20kg 5 sets x 10 reps
Speed Squats 20kg 5 sets x 10 reps
Overhead Presses 20kg 5 sets x 10 reps

9pm session
Bicep Curls 20kg 5 sets x 10 reps
Upright Rows 20kg 5 sets x 10 reps
Incline Presses (I don't have an incline bench though) 20kg 5 sets x 20 reps

And that is all for day 2! Day 3 coming up which is rest day but I'm still planning to run in the morning for bout 20-30 minutes just to train up some stamina! Cheers!
It's been a long long time since I've posted here. As most may know, I've gotten 8th position at the HomeTeamNS Strongman Challenge aka Singapore's Strongest Man. I shall leave that to update when I'm free and when I've received the videos and photos from a friend (Though they're already up on facebook)

I'm starting to blog again basically to check my progress over the next 3 months. I will be training 2 times daily, 5 times weekly for the next 15 weeks. Yes, I'm making this public because I'm not afraid to let my competitors know how much effort I'm putting in (Not that many people read this blog anyway!)

Day 1- 16/11/11

Overhead presses 5 sets x 5 reps 40kg, 40kg, 45kg, 45kg, 50kg (Couldn't grind out 5 reps on the 50kg)
(Yup, weak overhead presses caus of shoulder and elbow injuries)

180kg x 1 rep (Supposed to hit 3 but gassed out after first one)
100kg x 5 reps (Cool-down)

27.5kg x 20 reps

35kg x 10 reps
40kg x 12 reps

And there it goes, day 1 done and 105 days to go! Until 1st March 2012!

7 more days to the big morning!
Went for the last round of training assessment today.
And thankfully, I broke all my PBs.

32.05 seconds 10 Tyre Flips.
9.15 seconds 240kg Sled over 20m.
13.3 seconds 100kg Log Walk over 20m.

I don't give a damn who's participating this year. All I've got on my mind is to make sure I don't gas out during the tyre flips, Drag the Rhino faster with more footwork and lastly, don't drop the logs. And I'm ready for revenge! Ready for the FINALS!

32 more days. Went for training last night. Improved certain timings so I'm pretty happy about it. Hit 350kg Abigail for 10 reps and bettered my timing from 71 seconds to 51.6 seconds. Totally surpassed my goal of 60 seconds flat.
Went for the conventional tyre 10 reps too, but slipped during the 4th or 5th rep, resulting in 35.2 seconds, 2 seconds off my PB of 33 seconds. Disappointed me a little.
Lastly, headed for Log walking over 20m, Went for a 95kg set and hit 15.9 seconds, bettering the competition time I put in, 17.15 seconds. And competition logs are easier to lift and though they claim it's 100kg per side, I'ts only 90kg-95kg based on my intuition.
So overall I'm pretty happy with my results. Tomorrow will be hitting some sleds and arm-over-arm pulls. Haven't done them in a long time. Will sure need the kick in training for them when I qualify for the Finals.
Hope I can do it this year, don't want to disappoint the team nor my family and friends, and most importantly, don't wanna disappoint myself.
Though there are veterans coming back from injuries to compete this year, the same ol', foreigners, and the newbies and youngsters who are giving it a shot, it's not gonna affect me. I will do it! Finals I will be there for you.
As Sam said: "Don't care about the rivals, one thing you do is to just go there and KILL IT! Nothing else."
So I'm going there, no pressure, and not bothering about who is gonna be there, because I will qualify no matter how strong or fast the rest are. BECAUSE I CAN DO IT AND I WILL. 32 more days! PROVE MOST WRONG! And supporters right :)

20th February 2011. Qualifiers for HomeTeamNS Strongman Challenge 2011.
Busted knee, sicknesses. Been a while since I last posted here.
But I'm preparing, preparing with whatever ounce of strength and heart I have left, in the limited time I have.
I am going to qualify for the finals. I will qualify for the finals. I am going to Toa Payoh HDB Hub on the 12th of March to compete. NO MATTER WHAT.
Bring on the challenges! Because I will be ready for you.
Aim for this year will be to hit 7th place!
BRING IT ON! EXPLODE!

BACK! After 17 days in BMT PES C, I'm back :)
Been doing a bit of running in camp as well as static exercises such as Buddha Claps, Push Ups, Planks and Hindu Squats. Well, I maintained my weight so I'm still hovering around the 110kg range.
Hope to be able to go for Strongman on sunday, to check how much I've improved(Hopefully) or deteriorated. But throughout this next year, be assured that I'll be working hard with one aim in mind...
To qualify for the Finals next year in 2011! And with some new motivations, which will last for quite a long period of time, I know I can do it :) Support me people!
But for now, let me enjoy the book out! :)

Double Puke!

Today I bombed myself. I don't know what happened but I was seriously bombed.
I did 8 flips of Abigail(350kg), then 7 more, then 5 more. So total it was 20 flips. Then I went on the Prowler, a push sled. Did 3 cookies a side for 1 set and 4 cookies a side for 1 set. After that, puked and rested.
Flashing lights and white spots all over my vision so headed home. Puked again and got a fucking bad headache. So went straight to sleep. Nothing but a good sleep after a heatstroke. WTF seriously. Who gets heatstrokes at 11pm in the night? -_-
Enlisting on Monday, 12th April. Gonna have to take a break from Strongman. But I'll be back.
I'll be back, TOUGHER, FASTER AND STRONGER. Than ever.

HomeTeamNS Strongman Challenge 2010 Finals are over.
It was a good experience to see all the competitors slogging the guts out for the title of Singapore's Strongest Man again. I love the atmosphere on the day itself. Everything about the challenge is good! Well except for the Rhino being a tad too small. They should change the Rhino to a Truck or Fire Engine or something. HAHA.
And well, since 2010's competition is over, welcome to training for 2011! In 2011, mark my words, I will qualify for the Finals! It's just a matter of a whole new 11 months of strongman training and nutrition. Well, apart from the rough 7 weeks of BMT(Which I won't be doing much lower body exercises caus I'm excused from RMJ), I should still have a good 9 months of training for Strongman 2011. In the meantime, it's to get ready to enlist into the army and hope that I don't lose strength or mass :D
